Why am I getting dropped calls? |
|||||
If you are having problems with dropped calls on a PRI line there are several things to check for. One is an excessive number of 8 and 6 events (FCS errors and HDLC abort frames, which are errors on the D-Channel) on a span. This will also cause audio problems that the caller can hear on the line. Another is actual RED alarms on a span which will cause all calls to be dropped. These may be caused by a number of things. Events 6 and 8 are usually caused by IRQMisses. RED alarms are not caused by IRQMisses but the same things that cause IRQMisses often cause RED alarms. Often incorrect hard drive DMA settings can cause these errors. Dropped Calls on TDM If you are having dropped calls on a TDM400P card or an X100P card there are several things that might cause this. -BusyDetect -CallProgress BusyDetect and CallProgress may cause Asterisk to detect false hangups. Setting BusyCount to a higher value or turning off CallProgress may fix the problem. An excessive number of IRQMisses may also cause these problems. Dropped Calls on VoIP If you are getting dropped calls on a VoIP connection, it is most likely a problem with your network some where. |
